The Boston Celtics are now headed to the NBA finals to take on the Lakers after they defeated the Detroit Pistons 89-81 in game 6 of the Eastern Conference Finals.
“It’s kind of surreal,” Garnett said. “Probably hasn’t even hit me yet because we haven’t slept in about four days, going on five days now. Going to the Finals, I’m just hoping to get some sleep.” Read the rest of this entry »

Everybody needs to stop picking on Kansas State basketball star Michael Beasley, afterall he’s just a little kid.
“I just turned 19 years old in January,” Beasley said. “How mature do you want me to be? I’m still a kid. I’m not 20 yet. I’m not legal. I can vote, but that’s about it. On the basketball side of things, I’m 30 years old. Off the court, I don’t know how old y’all want me to be. Do you want me to act 25? 30? 40?. I’m 19. I’m a kid. I’m going to live my life. I’m going to mess up. I don’t know as much as you do or him. I’m learning day by day. I hear a lot about character issues. But I’ve yet to hear what those character issues are. Until I hear somebody tell me, I don’t feel the need to change.”
Aww, somebody get this little baby his pacifier.

Serena Williams lost to Katarina Srebotnik during their third round match at the French Open.
“I missed a lot of easy shots and a lot of key points that I felt like could have turned the match around,” Williams said. “I wasn’t able to capitalize.” “I wasn’t nervous, She (Katarina Srebotnik) was getting a lot of balls back, and I might have let that get into my head. She was just making some shots I don’t think she’s ever made before, or she probably would be in the top two.”
But don’t worry, Maria Sharapova is still alive in the tournament so there’s still a reason to watch.

In an interview on the Dan Patrick Show, Pete Rose admitted he used to bet $2,000 per game.
“It was like $2,000. That’s it,” Rose said in the interview. “And it didn’t change — because I know you’re going to say, Well betting’s all about pitching and stuff like that — I didn’t care who was pitching for me or who was pitching for the opposition. I just made it easy for the guys making the bets and just bet this much every game and that’s the way we did it.”
Reflecting on the past, Rose is very dissapointed in himself for gambling away all that money away. Instead he wishes he would have spent the cash on more valuable things in life like steroids, hookers and cocaine.

When we made a list of the hottest female athletes earlier this year, we realized there was something missing. And that something was all the hot female athletes that came before the 2000′s. Sure they might not have bared quite so much skin, but there were tons of foxes playing sports back in the old days when the Olympics were still the highlight of an entire year.
Sure we still have plenty of modern day athletes on our list (you can’t beat the present for hot female athletes ultimately, just look at the LPGA today vs. 20 years ago), but we tried hard to remember all the gems from decades past.
We stopped at 50, but could have easily gone to 100, and we were faced with tons of tough choices. Ultimately physical attractiveness was the number one requirement for inclusion, but we also tried to look at career success and historical import a little bit as well. We at PopCrunch hope you enjoy the list.
