Rachel Alexandra and jockey Calvin Borel won the 134th Preakness Stakes on Saturday. With the win Rachel Alexandra goes down in histroy as the first filly to win the Peakness since 1924 and she became the first horse to win both the Kentucky Oaks and then the Preakness.

Calvin Borel won the Oaks on Rachel Alexandra and he won the Derby on Preakness runner-up Mine That Bird.

“This is the greatest horse I’ve ever been on in my life,” Borel said of Rachel Alexandra.

But Borel did admit she was struggling on the surface.

“The more I asked her, the more she struggled,” Borel said. “I had to hit her a couple of times.”

Would’ve the results been different if Borel was riding Mine That Bird instead?

I guess we’ll never know…
