Six new Pro Football Hall of Famers were announced this weekend. Defensive end Bruce Smith, defensive back Rod Woodson, receiver Bob Hayes, O-lineman Randall McDaniel, and longtime Bills owners Ralph Wilson.

“It will take a couple minutes to get over the shock … The fans in Buffalo have been great even though we haven’t had much of a product lately … ever since this guy left us,” Wilson said, pointing to his former player and fellow inductee Bruce Smith.

Among the finalists not selected were receivers Cris Carter and Andre Reed, defensive end Richard Dent, tight end Shannon Sharpe and former NFL Commissioner Paul Tagliabue.

All four of those guys deserved to get in, especially Carter and Taliabue.
