The Denver Nuggets took a 2-0 lead over the Hornets after beating New Orleans 108-93 on Wednesday night. Chauncey Billups led Denver in scoring with 31 points while Carmelo Anthony led the team in assists, steals and blocks.

Chicago Bulls guard Derrick Rose won the NBA Rookie of the Year by a landslide on Wednesday. He received 111 first-place votes and 574 points from a national group of sports journalists and broadcasters; beating runner-up O.J. Mayo who only received 5 first place votes and 127 points.
