A-Rod will miss 6-9 weeks

Alex Rodriguez will have arthroscopic hip surgery on Monday which will keep him out for 6-9 weeks.
“Well, it’s better than him missing the whole year,” Yankees manager Joe Girardi said. “It could have been a lot worse.”
If Monday’s surgery is a success, A-Roid will likely still need second operation after the season if he plans to continue playing baseball beyond this year.
“The surgery that will just repair the labrum tear right now would shorten his rehab,” general manager Brian Cashman said. “Then, following the conclusion of the season, going in and repair the remaining aspects that need to be repaired.”
