Another conspiracy theory about the World Cup has emerged. Although this one sounds more likely.

In a book called the Son of the Chessmaster Fernando Rodriguez Mondragon claims that his uncle who was involved with the Cali cartel in Columbia organized a meeting in Lima between Peru and Argentina’s football association.

The Peru players and referees were bribed ($50.000 per head) to ensure Argentina would win a game against and then go on to fight Holland in the finals.

Peru football association also got a hefty ahem donation.

Am I the only who thinks the drug cartels made quite a bit of cash betting knowing the outcome of the match before hand?

Be as it may, it seems World Cup competition can be fixed after all.
