Billy Gillispie Charges With DUI

Former Kentucky basketball coach Billy Gillispie was arrested and charged with DUI after he refused sobriety tests and his breath smelled like alcohol during an early morning traffic stop.
“Billy had a strong fruity smell coming from his person [possibly wine] and had red, glassy eyes and slow, slurred speech,” Police Officer Michael Corley wrote in his report.
According to the officer Gillispie was driving 63 mph in a 45 mph zone at 2:47 a.m. along a highway in Lawrenceburg. He was jailed overnight and released at 9:33am.
