Hall of Fame basketball coach Bob Knight is not ruling out a return to coaching.

“It has to be a situation that I think is right for me and one where I would be right for the university,” Knight said. “I have never said that I wouldn’t coach again. I’ve simply said in the past, if the right situation came along, I would be interested.”

Sources close to the former Texas Tech coach say he’s interested in the Georgia job.

“He doesn’t want it to look as if he’s pursuing the job,” the source told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. “He’d like to be offered it, and if offered, he’d take it. He doesn’t want it to look as if he’s looking for work, but I can assure you that he’d like to have the job. It’s the idea of coaching a team in the Southeastern Conference that appeals to him. There are just so many things he could do for Georgia basketball. This would be his last stop, and he likes that.”

I’m not sure Georgia is a good fit for Coach Knight but I hope he makes a return to coaching soon. College basketball is a lot more entertaining with him on the sidelines.
