Brett Favre ‘don’t care’ about future
Future HOFer Brett Favre doesn’t know if he’ll return next season and frankly, he doesn’t care. He’s just focused on getting the Jets to the playoffs this season.
“I have people — friends, family — who ask me all the time about next year,” Favre said.
“The answer I give them, which is the honest answer, is I really don’t know. I really don’t know. To be totally honest with you, I really don’t care. What I care about is trying to beat Tennessee.”
Favre then continued to attack the media for their stupid questions about his future.
“I don’t see how anyone, aside from you guys, can focus on next year when what we’re trying to do right now is win and do something this year,” Favre told reporters. “I’m 39 years old. I know the better days are behind me, for the most part. There won’t be 16 more years or 17 more years. I’m trying to enjoy and help this team win now.”
He’ll be back next year — the guy just doesn’t know how to walk away. I’m convinced that Favre will continue to play until he suffers a serious injury like a torn rotator cuff or ACL injury. As long as a team is willing to start him, he’ll continue to play football.
