The New York Jets now sit atop the AFC East division after they were able to beat the New England Patriots in overtime 34-31.

“It’s a great, great feeling for us,” Jets head coach Eric Mangini said.

“Everybody understands that this game was extremely important, and it’s important because it allows us to make the next game [against Tennessee] extremely important. It’s a really positive step for our team.”

The Jets led the game 24-6 at one point in the first half but Matt Cassel was able to lead the Patriots’ offense back to a 24-13 lead with just 15 seconds left in the 2nd quarter.

And just when it looked like the Jets were going to win Randy Moss made this beautiful catch with just 1 second left in regulation to force the game into overtime.

But unfortunately for the Patriots that spectacular catch didn’t mean a thing because the Jets won the overtime coin toss and were able to get close enough for Jay Feely to kick a 34-yard game winning field goal.
