Broken Pinkie Could Keep Romo Out 4 Weeks
Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo could potentially miss up to 4 weeks of action after breaking his pinkie finger during the 30-24 loss in Arizona.
“We don’t know how long he’ll be out. It depends on how fast that heals,” head coach Wade Phillips said
“I’d say week to week, depending on quickly he heals. Different people heal differently.”
40-year old Brad Johnson will take over in Romo’s absence and his teammates have plenty of confidence in him.
“It’s going to be Brad to go in there and prove that he’s not just here for the ride, he’s part of this thing,” linebacker Greg Ellis said. “Every opportunity I’ve seen Brad step in on other teams, he’s able to hold it down and get it done.”
Johnson has won a Super Bowl before with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers so he knows how to be a leader and how to spread the ball around. But due to his age, he won’t be able to avoid the rush like Romo was able to do on many occasions.
Dallas fans are hoping Romo don’t get a hernia with all the free time he’ll be spending with his lover Jessica Simpson.
