Browns hire Eric Mangini
Just a week after the New York Jets fired Eric Mangini the Cleveland Browns have hired him to become their new head coach. Mangini and the Browns agreed to a 4-year deal Wednesday evening.
“I am really happy for Coach Mangini,” Jets running back LeonWashington said. “I learned so much from him while he had his tenure with the Jets. His hardworking, selfless and competitive approach really helped me…The Browns got themselves a really good coach.”
The Browns must love picking from the Bill Belichick coaching tree. There previous coach Romeo Crennel was Belichick’s defensive coordinator from 2001-04 and now they’ve hired Mangini who worked under Belichick for many years.
The Browns should have taken their time with their coaching search and they could have ended up with a way better coach than Mangini. Mangini doesn’t know how to lead a team and doesn’t know how to deal with the personalities of star players.
If Mangini couldn’t handle Brett Favre’s “diva” personality how is he going to deal with Braylon Edwards and Kellen Winslow Jr.?
Bad hire Cleveland.
