Buccaneers sign Derrick Ward

Former New York Giants running back Derrick Ward has signed a 4-year deal worth $17 million with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
“I’m a variety of things. I can be a pass-receiving running back, a one-cut and up running back, a power running back. I can do it all,” Ward said.
Ward said money wasn’t the only reason he chose to play for the Bucs; he thinks their system is a perfect fit for his running style.
“I think my style of running, my style of play will fit in perfect. We have all the key components for a great offense,” Ward said. “With the transactions they made this offseason, it only bolstered the offense, so I’m looking forward to great things.”
I’m expected Ward to be one of the 2009 free agent busts of the year. He is not a starting running back, he can only be successful as a complementary back.
