It’s been a hell of a week for Braylon Edwards. He was held without a catch for the first time in almost four years on Sunday against the Bengals. He took out his frustration Sunday night on a friend of LeBron James, punching the guy outside of a nightclub (James called Edwards “childish” afterwards), and now Eric Mangini has apparently had enough, trading the wide receiver to the New York Jets for two draft picks (a 3rd and a 5th, unless Edwards meets performance incentives which would make it a 2nd and a 5th) as well as wide receiver Chansi Stuckey and linebacker Jason Trusnik.

Edwards has been a big target in Cleveland in the past year, becoming a magnet for criticism after constantly dropping catchable passes. How that act is going to play in New York I don’t know, but he clearly needed a change of scenery.

NBA star LeBron James is publicly criticizing Braylond Edwards after the Cleveland Browns receiver punched his friend outside a night club early Monday morning.

I’ve never crossed paths with Braylon before, but it seems like there’s a little jealousy going on with Braylon and me and my friends. I have no idea why,” a pissed off James said after practice. “I’ve never said anything to Braylon at all. But for him to do that is very childish. My friend is 130 pounds. Seriously. It’s like hitting one of my kids. It doesn’t make sense.”

Maybe I’m dreaming, but I say these two guys should battle it out in a celebrity boxing match. James has the size advantage at 6′8″ 250 pounds but Edwards has the speed advantage at 6′3″ 215 points.

More than likely Braylon would get the shit beat out of him, but either way it’d entertaining to watch. Hell, put it on pay-per-view. I’d buy it.

Browns wide receiver Braylon Edwards is convinced all the Cleveland fans hate him because he attended Ohio State rival Michigan in college.

“It is what it is … I’ve learned since being here that I’m very unappreciated,” Edwards said while shedding a tear. “Not by the organization, just in the eyes of the fans and the city. Since Day One, I’ve been a marked man coming from Michigan. It’s just gone that way.”

Actually Edwards, they hate you because you’re not playing anywhere near your potential this season. You’re dropping a shitload of passes and you can never seem to get open.

Everyone knows you’re one of the more talented receivers in the NFL but for this entire season it seems like you’re trying to do your best Todd Pinkston impersonation.
