Brett Favre can now retire happily after he got his revenge over the Green Bay Packers with a 30-23 win on Monday Night Football. The win also gives Favre another record as the first player to ever beat all 32 current NFL teams.

“My statement has been what I’ve done over my career,” Favre said. “One game does not define my career good or bad. I know what I’ve done. I’m proud of what I’ve done. I know I can play. I wanted to do what it takes to win.”

Favre played well, and he didn’t even throw an interception.

“Lot of fun. It was a big win for us,” Favre said. “We did what we had to do.”

It was a great game, especially if you kept your television muted the entire time. If you thought John Madden was a huge Favre nuthugger, you should have heard Jon Gruden and Ron Jaworski! Those two guys were swinging from his nuts the entire night. He won the game and played well, so what? Let’s see if he can continue to play well for the entire season.

A few years ago Eric Mangina ratted out Bill Belichick and started the whole “spygate scandel,” now he’s paying for a scandel of his own. Apparently, last year Mangina didn’t list Brett Favre on the Jets injury report even though he had a torn biceps tendon. On Wednesday, the NFL fined Jets general manager Mike Tannenbaum $25,000 and Mangini was fined a hefty $75,000.

When he heard about the fine, Mangina told reporters that he has always abided by the rules.

“That was true there [in New York]. It’s true here,” Mangini said. “It’ll be true every week of the season and that’s how we approach it.”

Karma is a bitch. Mangina learned the hard way.

Since coming out of retirement for the 50th time, Brett Favre is having a hard time making friends with his new Minnesota Vikings teammates.

“Obviously chemistry is maybe the most important factor in winning and losing. There’s some work to do in that area,” Favre said. “I’ve been here a little over a week, and that’s the reason there’s work to do. I think the locker room has been fine. I don’t know what it was like before I got here. I wasn’t here.”

Favre admitted that he hasn’t made friends with everybody in the locker room, but he’ll try his hardest to make nice.

“I’d be a fool to sit here and tell you I’ve won everyone over in the locker room, and that’s not what I’m trying to do. I was brought in here to help this team win, not to make friends, even though I felt like that’s an easy thing for me to do,” he said. “I will continue to work on that part of it. I think my experience can only go so far on the field, but it can pay huge dividends off the field and in the locker room. You know what, you’ve got to be yourself, and I’m pretty content with my personality. I think it’s able to fit in with just about everyone.”

Sources say the team is split 50/50. Half of the locker room wants Sage Rosenfels to start, the other half wants Tarvaris Jackson to start. Only a handful actually support Favre as their leader.

If anybody cares, Popcruch would love to see Rosenfels start just so we could watch Favre crying his eyes out while holding a clipboard on the sidelines.

In May, former Vikings great Fran Tarkenton was very vocal about his feelings towards Brett Favre. Now that Favre has signed with Minnesota, Tarkenton still feels the same way.

“I really have no interest in what Brett Favre does. He kind of lost me a few years ago by retiring and unretiring and here and there,” Tarkenton said

Tarkenton also expressed disgust towards his former team putting Favre above the rest of the team.

“I asked a few friends here, maybe 10 or 12 people we were out with last night,” Tarkenton added. “I said, ‘What do you think about Brett Favre going back to the Vikings?’ You know who cared? Nobody. It’s good news for you guys. It’s good news for television and so forth but the last time I heard … football was a team sport, isn’t it? It’s not just about the quarterback.”

In closing, Tarkenton said if he was a Packer fan he’d be pissed off.

“Wouldn’t you be upset if you’re a Packer fan? I think you’re going to have Packer fans burning the No. 4 Favre Green Bay jersey,” Tarkenton also told “The Opening Drive” on Sirius NFL Radio. ” I think the Packer fans have every right to be outraged”

The Vikings should make Fran Tarkenton their head coach. We can already tell he knows way more than that dumbass Brad Childress.

As we reported on Tuesday Morning, Brett Favre is the newest member of the Minnesota Vikings after the 39-year old future HOFer decided to unretire yet again.

“I felt I did everything I possibly could do to get where I need to be,” Favre said at his introductory news conference Tuesday evening. “You’re 39, your arm may not feel like it did at 21. But the pieces are in place that you don’t have to do that much and I agree with that.

At the beginning of this post you can watch part of the news conference, courtesy of ESPN. The most surprising thing Favre revealed is that he actually has a small tear in his right rotator cuff.

“Between three weeks ago and the phone conversation yesterday [with Childress], I talked to Dr. [James] Andrews and he assured me it wouldn’t be an issue,” Favre said. “I felt if everyone was going to take that chance, I was to.”

The Vikings and head coach Brad Childress proved their idiocy by signing Favre. We’re huge Favre fans too, but he just doesn’t have it anymore. His arm is weak and he can’t stay healthy. Not to mention he no longer cares to build relationships with his teammates so they all hate him. Childress has to be the dumbest coach in the NFL.

Sage Rosenfels is a better quarterback than Brett Favre at this point in their careers. It doesn’t take the next Vince Lombardi to figure that out. But Childress obviously has no idea what he’s doing.

As we predicted many moons ago, Brett Favre is not retired. A source close to the situation has told ESPN and Foxsports that Favre is on a plane to to Minnesota to meet and sign with the team, pending a physical.

The contract will be worth around 10 million to $12 million. This is breaking news and details are still coming in.
