Charles Barkley was sentenced to 5 days in jail on Monday after pleading guilty on DUI charges in Scottsdale, Arizona.

“I think that a DUI is unacceptable,” Barkley said during his apology which aired on TNT. “That can’t happen and I’ve got to challenge other people, not just celebrities or jocks. You have to really think before getting behind the wheel after you’ve been drinking.”

Barkley must also enter an alcohol awareness program; pay over $2,000 in fines and he’ll be forced to install an ignition interlock device on his vehicles.

He’ll begin serving his jail sentence on March 21st.

Former NBA great and current television commentator Charles Barkley was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol on New Years Eve. According to the officer who wrote the police report, Barkley was about to receive oral sex from a hooker he just picked up, but then the police interrupted.

“He told me that he ran the stop sign because he was in a hurry to pick up the girl I saw get in the passenger seat,” the officer who wrote to report said.

“He asked me to admit that she was ‘hot.’ He asked me, ‘You want the truth?’ When I told him I did he said, ‘I was gonna drive around the corner and get a b**w job. He then explained that she had given him a ‘b**w job’ one week earlier and said it was the best one he had ever had in his life.”

You da man Charles!

Auburn alum Charles Barkley thinks racism is the only reason the Tigers hired Gene Chizik as their new head coach instead of Buffalo’s head coach Turner Gill.

“I think race was the No. 1 factor,” said Barkley. “You can say it’s not about race, but you can’t compare the two resumes and say [Chizik] deserved the job. Out of all the coaches they interviewed, Chizik probably had the worst resume.”

Chizik does have a horrible resume, in the 2 years he spent as the head coach of Iowa State his overall record was just 5 wins and 19 losses. Meanwhile, Gill led his Buffalo team to their first MAC championship ever.

So why did Auburn hire Chizik? I’m not sure but racism didn’t have anything to do with it. Millions of white Americans went out and voted for a black president so racism really can’t be used as an excuse for anymore.

Charles Barkley, former Kansas PF Danny Manning, Arkansas coach Nolan Richardson and ESPN personality Dick Vitale were among those inducted into the National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame on Sunday night.

“This is a really cool honor,” Barkley said. “I’ve had obviously a magnificent life and this is just more icing on the cake.”

For Vitale it was a dream come true.

“It’s unbelievable. It’s a dream,” Vitale said. “I’m in the last stage of my life. I’m in the last chapter. I want to make it my best.”

Other inductees included Mount St. Mary’s coach Jim Phelan, Former Utah All-American Arnie Ferrin and sportscaster Billy Packer.
