NFL Hall of Famer Gale Sayers thinks the reason for Devin Hester’s disappointing season so far is because Hester looks scared during kick returns.

“It looks like he’s afraid to run back kickoffs,” Sayers said.

Are the Chicago Bears a better football team than the Indianapolis Colts? It sure looked that way when the Chicago Bears, led by QB Kyle Orton, destroyed Manning and Co. 29-13 in the 2008 debut of Sunday Night Football on NBC.

“We had a couple of balls that we couldn’t catch, we had a ball on the ground we couldn’t get and they stripped one out and ran it back for a touchdown,” Dungy said. “It’s been a long time since we’ve been beaten like that.” Read the rest of this entry »

The Chicago Bears have named Kyle Orton their starting quarterback over Rex Grossman.

“To come to a decision like that we’ve taken a lot of things into consideration: Last year, how [Orton] finished the season … training camp, preseason games,” Head Coach Lovie Smith said. “In the end, it comes down to a gut feeling that you have.”

It’s nice to know Lovie Smith has finally taken his head out of his ass and realized Rex Grossman is a horrible quarterback. I’m pretty sure a blind dwarf with 1 leg would be a better QB than Rexy.

The best kick/punt returner in the NFL did not show up at the first day of Chicago Bears training camp and according to Devin Hester himself he will continue to miss camp until the Bears show him the money.

“I’m not coming,” Hester told the Chicago Tribune. “I have to make a statement. I showed by going to [organized team activities] that I was a team player. But then, I just felt like they weren’t taking it seriously that I wanted to get a new deal.”

The Bears better do whatever it takes to make Hester happy, without him who will score for Chicago — Rex Grossman? I don’t think so!

The Chicago Bears have signed running back Kevin Jones to a 1-year deal worth $605,000.

“I’m ecstatic,” Jones told the Chicago Tribune. “I know the situation. I know the Bears’ rich history of winning. Looking at the Bears, I know they’re a tough, running team. I can’t wait to be a part of it.” Read the rest of this entry »

Bears Release Benson

As expected the Chicago Bears have released moronic running back Cedric Benson after his 2nd arrest this offseason.

Cedric displayed a pattern of behavior we will not tolerate,” Bears general manager Jerry Angelo said in a statement. “As I said this past weekend, you have to protect your job. Everyone in this organization is held accountable for their actions. When individual priorities overshadow team goals, we suffer the consequences as a team. Those who fail to understand the importance of ‘team’ will not play for the Chicago Bears.”

The Bears could easily afford to cut Benson because he sucks and they found a better running back with their 2nd round draft pick, Matt Forte.

Whats next for Benson? Maybe somebody will employ him as their tackling dummy.

Chicago Bears running back Cedric Benson has been arrested for drunk driving in Austin, Texas.

“Disappointment is too much an often-used word when we’re talking about Cedric, and the number one lesson for every player is protect your job,” Chicago Bears general manager Jerry Angelo said. “So we’re all held accountable for our actions.”

This latest arrest will likely lead to Benson getting released from the Chicago Bears. This is his 2nd run in with the law this offseason and he’s a shitty running back. Bye, bye Benson.
