Since when was a salute considered excessive celebration? Apparently some referee really hates Kansas State and basically destroyed their chances of beating Syracuse in the Pinstripe bowl on Thursday.
Adrian Hillburn should have turned around and gave the refs a middle-finger salute after they threw the bogus flag.
Cam Newton and the Auburn Tigers are the new No. 1 team in the latest BCS standings after Oklahoma lost to Missouri on Saturday. While 90% of humans agree the Oregon Ducks should sit atop the rankings, the computers think differently. And Auburn coach Gene Chizik isn’t about to complain.
“I can only control how we proceed in this building,” coach Gene Chizik said. “We just had a team meeting and we talked about being very grounded and understanding that every week is another new week and another opportunity.”
Boise State is 3rd in the poll with TCU as No. 4 followed by Michigan State and Missouri.
However, if Missouri manages to beat Nebraska on Saturday don’t be surprised if they’re the new No. 1 team next week.
Check out this amazing interception during a Division III college football game between Gallaudet University and Castleton State. It’s clearly one of the best INT’s you will ever see in your entire life. One player jumps out of bound in order to tip the ball back in-bounds to his teammate who makes the interception.
Some people just have way too much time to themselves OR they’re just freakishly obsessed with their favorite athletes. Either way this song dedicated to Ryan Mallett is extremely pathetic. To the guys who created this song, we get it, you’re in love with him. Now enjoy swinging from his nuts all season long, but please don’t create another crappy song.
Watch as the Ohio Bobcat’s mascot tries to beat up the Ohio State’s legendary mascot, Brutus Buckeye. While I’ll admit this is somewhat funny, it obviously wasn’t planned an I’m sure the man under the mask of the Bobcat will be looking for a new job come next Saturday. There’s no way he ever gets to put on the Mascot uniform again. It was funny for us to watch, but completely idiotic for the moron to do.
Since most of the Auburn college football team is below 21 years old, they can’t go to a bar and get drunk together. Instead, they stay in their locker room and sing “Lean On Me” while holding each other like long lost lovers.
That’s a gay moment those guys will never forget. And it doesn’t matter how many games they lose this season, NOBODY can take that moment away from them.
Bobby Johnson decided to make a surprising announcement on Wednesday when he retired has the head football coach at Vanderbilt.
“I’ve decided to retire, not resign,” Johnson said. “It’s a tough decision with which my wife, Catherine, and I struggled. This is a personal decision.”
“Football is not life, but it’s a way of life and it consumes your life,” Johnson said. “You only have so many years to live, and you want to see a different way.”
Johnson is only 59-years old and his retirement came as a shock to everyone, especially his players. But after reading the statement above it’s apparent that he was never as passionate about football as he should have been.
If he doesn’t love the game he should have retired years ago.
The Pac-10 is so desperate for a 12th team that they decided to invite Utah on Wednesday. Obviously, all sources close to the situation say the Utes have every intention of accepting the invite, and why wouldn’t they? They would be morons not to. For years they have complained that they couldn’t ever get into a BCS game due to their conference, if they joined the Pac-10 they would have every chance to make a BCS bowl game.
“We’re convinced the system as set up is anticompetitive,” Utah Attorney General Mark Shurtleff, said. “It goes way beyond the University of Utah.”
Out of all the schools out there, I’m surprised the Pac-10 decided to go after Utah and not a better school, but regardless Utah is ran by a bunch of idiots if they don’t accept the invite.
It looks as if the Big 12 conference will stay together for at least a few more years after the Texas Longhorns have announced their decision to turn down a Pac-10 invite.
“University of Texas President Bill Powers has informed us that the 10 remaining schools in the Big 12 Conference intend to stay together,” Pac-10 commissioner Larry Scott said in a statement. “We are excited about the future of the Pac-10 Conference and we will continue to evaluate future expansion opportunities under the guidelines previously set forth by our Presidents and Chancellors.”
This is absolutely the wrong decision for Texas. I understand that all the remaining Big 12 teams have been pleading with them to remain in the conference, but at the end of the day the Longhorns would have made more money and would have gained a bigger television audience if they would have moved to the Pac-10.
They chose tradition over money which is great for most college football fans, but bad for the school itself.
Now that Nebraska has grown some balls and left the Big 12, more schools are deciding to follow their lead. On Thursday it was announced that Colorado is also leaving, and has decided to join the Pac-10.
“This is the dawning of a new day for the Pac-10,” commissioner Larry Scott. “The University of Colorado is a great fit for the conference both academically and athletically and we are incredibly excited to welcome Colorado to the Pac-10.”
The Big 12 is starting to collapse and make soon become extinct. Word on the street is that the Texas Longhorns are also considering leaving the conference. If that happens you can consider the Big 12 just as good as dead.
