David Ortiz has finally made his first statements regarding his positive test for an illegal substance back in 2003. Ortiz swears he has never taken steroids and he blames it all on over the counter vitamins.

Lawyers with knowledge of the 2003 testing for performance-enhancing substances have told The New York Times that Manny Ramirez and David Ortiz were among the 104 players who tested positive.

“Today I was informed by a reporter that I was on the 2003 list of MLB players to test positive for performance-enhancing substances. This happened right before our game, and the news blindsided me,” Ortiz said in a statement. Read the rest of this entry »
