New York Giants wide receiver Plaxico Burress will not attend practice until he gets a new contract.
“Me and my agent are trying to get a deal done so I can stay a New York Giant for a long time,” Burress said. “I, personally, don’t like the way they’re going and I am not happy about it. I am choosing not to participate. I’m not saying I’m being mistreated, [but] Everybody wants to be treated fairly.”
The Giants can win games without Jeremy Shockey but they can’t afford to lose Burress. If they’re smart he’ll get a new deal soon.
I know it is not the World Cup and Brazilian fans are definitely missing, but that does not mean Europeans are not capable of getting in the spirit of things.
Here is a small selection of fan talent this side of the pond.
Philadelphia Eagles fragile quarterback is suffering from tendinitis in his shoulder.
“It’s very similar to what he had in 2004,” Eagles coach Andy Reid told the press. “We’re going to back off just like in ‘04 and he should be ready for training camp. There is no surgery and should be no repercussions. He’ll get treatment for about two weeks and he should be ready to go.”
McNabb is always hurt and rarely plays through the pain anymore. Maybe it’s time for him to quit football and take up ballet.
As expected the Chicago Bears have released moronic running back Cedric Benson after his 2nd arrest this offseason.
Cedric displayed a pattern of behavior we will not tolerate,” Bears general manager Jerry Angelo said in a statement. “As I said this past weekend, you have to protect your job. Everyone in this organization is held accountable for their actions. When individual priorities overshadow team goals, we suffer the consequences as a team. Those who fail to understand the importance of ‘team’ will not play for the Chicago Bears.”
The Bears could easily afford to cut Benson because he sucks and they found a better running back with their 2nd round draft pick, Matt Forte.
Whats next for Benson? Maybe somebody will employ him as their tackling dummy.
Future Hall of Famer Michael Strahan has told FoxSports.com that he has decided to retire from the National Football League.
“It was important that my teammates knew which way I was going before they got on the field to start the work to defend our title,” the New York Giants defensive end said “It’s time. I’m done. It’s a tough decision but I wanted to be fair to the Giants and fair to my teammates.”
Strahan is going out on top and he will be a unanimous first-ballot Hall Of Famer.
Chicago Bears running back Cedric Benson has been arrested for drunk driving in Austin, Texas.
“Disappointment is too much an often-used word when we’re talking about Cedric, and the number one lesson for every player is protect your job,” Chicago Bears general manager Jerry Angelo said. “So we’re all held accountable for our actions.”
This latest arrest will likely lead to Benson getting released from the Chicago Bears. This is his 2nd run in with the law this offseason and he’s a shitty running back. Bye, bye Benson.
Bill Parcells finally felt the need to reach out and express his desire to have Jason Taylor return to the Miami Dolphins.
Of course I want him here, why wouldn’t you want one of the very best players?” Parcells said in an interview with The Associated Press. “This thing has kind of taken on a life of its own and a large measure of this ‘rift’ is fabrication. I don’t really know what the genesis was, other than there was some talk about a trade and people naturally thinking that when I come in it’s going to be confrontational. And that’s not necessarily true.”
Better late than never I suppose but the whole Parcells vs. Taylor fued could have been avoided if this was said months ago.
Cornerback DeAngelo Hall really hates his former head coach Bobby Petrino.
I hate him as an NFL coach, but I think he is a good college coach,” Hall said. “He is proven. I think he will do a good job at Arkansas. He has shown he can coach in the college game, but the NFL is a different thing, totally different. ”
None of his former Falcons players had any respect for Petrino as a coach because treated them like little kids and because he just had absolutely no clue what he was doing. Hopefully he stays in the college game where he belongs.
Some unlucky bastard tried to break into the home of Green Bay Packers backup running back Noah Herron on Friday night but the robbery didn’t go as planned. When Herron heard glass breaking in the lower level of his home he unscrewed a post from his bed and used it to beat the shit out of the intruder.
“Noah Herron used necessary, reasonable and justifiable force in protecting his life and property,” Sherriff Dennis Kocken said in a press release. “Herron, the victim in this random home invasion, is cooperating with law enforcement.” Read the rest of this entry »
