After hearing Brett Favre has decided to return to football as the quarterback for the Minnesota Vikings, new Broncos QB Kyle Orton wanted to do something special for the future HOFer, so in his most recent preseason game against the Seahawks he did his best Brett Favre impersonation and threw one of the dumbest interceptions in recent memory.
Broncos coach Josh McDaniels didn’t waste too much time naming a starting quarterback for the upcoming NFL season. On Saturday the first year head coach announced Kyle Orton has won the starting job over Chris Simms.
“There’s a lot of difficult aspects about what we ask our quarterback to do in our offense and Kyle has really grasped some of them more quickly than Chris did,” McDaniels explained. “I just think it puts them in a little bit of a pressure situation where now one of them has it and has to keep it and the other one has to get it. They’re still going to compete with each other and I expect the competition to be the same that it’s been. They both have great attitudes and know that nothing’s determined in June.”
Orton is a highly underrated quarterback and I believe he’s actually better than Jay Cutler. His arm certainly isn’t stronger, but he’s more accurate with his throws and he’s a great leader who earns the respect of his teammates.
2009 has just begun, but the Chicago Bears have already named Kyle Orton their starting quarterback for next season.

The Chicago Bears have named Kyle Orton their starting quarterback over Rex Grossman.
“To come to a decision like that we’ve taken a lot of things into consideration: Last year, how [Orton] finished the season … training camp, preseason games,” Head Coach Lovie Smith said. “In the end, it comes down to a gut feeling that you have.”
It’s nice to know Lovie Smith has finally taken his head out of his ass and realized Rex Grossman is a horrible quarterback. I’m pretty sure a blind dwarf with 1 leg would be a better QB than Rexy.
