Kobe Bryant and the Los Angeles Lakers beat the Denver Nuggets in game 1 of the Western Conference finals on Tuesday night, 105-103.
“A good one, an important one,” Bryant commented on the win. “Like I told the guys in a timeout, this is a different series. We felt kind of down on ourselves with a slow start. … I told them to forget about that, this is a different series.”

The Los Angeles Lakers won the Western Conference semifinals beating the Houston Rockets 89-70 on Sunday.

Lakers coach Phil Jackson isn’t embarrassed that his team lost to the Ming-less Rockets. And on a side note, he thinks you should give Houston some f*cking credit.

Even without their star player Yao Ming the Houston Rockets managed to beat the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday 99-87.
“I think everyone but us got the memo that we weren’t supposed to show up today without Yao,” Rockets forward Shane Battier said after the game.
The Los Angeles Lakers will be without veteren guard Derek Fisher for game 3 of the Western Conference semifinal against the Houston Rockets after the NBA decided to suspend him 1 game without pay for his hit (seen above) on Luis Scola in game 2.
