With the holiday weekend and all of the other sports news that happened over the weekend we haven’t been able to cover the US Open as closely as we would have liked too, but we’re hoping this post catches everybody up on some of the big upsets that took place during the past few days.

For starters, hottie Maria Sharapova was knocked out of the tournament by Melanie Oudin 3-6, 6-4, 7-5 on Saturday. After Sharapova was eliminated we really lost interest in the entire US Open, but we’ll try our hardest to continue caring.

On Sunday, Venus Williams was also upset when she lossed to Kim Clijsters 6-0, 0-6, 6-4. Clijsters now advances to the quarterfinals where she’ll face Na Li of China. This also added to our reasons of why not to care because there’s now no hope of seeing another epic battle between Williams sisters.

Finally, Andy Roddick was also upset during the weekend. This loss wasn’t a huge shocker, mostly because Roddick has a habbit of losing games like this. But if you care, he lossed to 6-foot-9 American John Isner, 7-6 (3), 6-3, 3-6, 5-7, 7-6 (5) on Saturday.

Unknown tennis hottie Gisela Dulko upset fellow tennis babe Maria Sharapova in their 2nd round match at Wimbledon on Wednesday.

“I had so many easy balls, and I just made unforced errors from those,” Sharapova said. “When I’ve had those situations before, those balls would be pieces of cake, and today they weren’t.”

At first I was very saddened to hear we would no longer be able to see a sweaty Sharapova at Wimbledon this year. But once I found some pictures of Gisela Dulko, I forgot all about it. Turns out she’s easy on the eyes too!

The French Open will loss a lot of viewers after Maria Sharapova suffered an embarrasing loss to Dominika Cibulkova 6-0, 6-2 on Tuesday.

“I don’t really care about numbers,” Sharapova said after the loss. “It’s either a W or an L, and I prefer W. You know, if it’s 7-6 in the third and you come out with a loss, I mean, what’s the difference?”

Sharapova was noticeably throughout her French Open matches, afterall it’s just her 2nd tournament in 10 months because of her right shoulder injury.

“I guess you could only ask your body to do so much,” she said. “Everything fell a little short today. The pace wasn’t there on my strokes, and I was five steps slower.”

Don’t worry Maria, you’re still one of the hottest players on the planet.

The Australian Open just got less interesting after the gorgeous defending champion Maria Sharapova withdrew from the tournament due to her slow recovery from a shoulder injury.

“I am very sorry to announce that I am not going to be able to defend my title at this year’s Australian Open,” Sharapova said. “My shoulder is doing great, but I just started training a few weeks ago and I am just not near the level I need to be to compete at the highest levels.”

If you’re like me than you probably weren’t going to watch the Australian Open anyways, but if you do plan on tuning in than it’s not because you enjoy watching the game of tennis — its because you love watching hot, sweaty girls running around in skimpy outfits trying to hit balls.

And you must admit, tennis just isn’t the same without the Sharapova grunt.

Sorry but I have some bad news.

It has been confirmed that Maria Sharapova will have to bow out from the Olympics before they have even began.

The results of an MRI scan have shown she has 2 small tears in tendons of her right shoulder which makes it impossible for her to compete.

Sharapova stated on her website: “There are so many mixed feelings because last night they were almost positive there was something wrong with my nerve, which could have ultimately been much more serious… But after the tests this morning, for the first time in a while, they were able to give me a different answer and a different problem…But on the other hand this is something that needs a lot of time to heal, which really hurts me to say that I have to miss the Olympics.”

Maria Sharapova has been upset by fellow russian Alla Kudryavtseva in the 2nd round at Wimbledon.

“She had nothing to lose,” Sharapova said. “She went for her shots. I can’t be really happy about anything today.”

Cheer up Maria, you have nothing to hang your head about. Your still 1 million times hotter than stupid Alla Kudryavtseva.

In case it might have slipped your mind but Wimbledon starts today. And the women of the WTA are revealing their new looks for the most popular and prestigious of Grand Slams.

This might sadden Sharapova’s fans but she is debuting shorts for the first time ever.

Sharapova said ‘I’ve never worn shorts at a Grand Slam. I’m gonna be debuting that. Call it menswear, obviously… It’s kind of like a tuxedo look, very simple lines, classic.’

Hm I thought I read somewhere it is tradition for women to wear skirts at Wimbledon. Then again I might have been wrong. But there you have it – shorts it is. And at least they are short.
