Doper Ricky Williams has signed a 1-year extension with the Miami Dolphins, which will keep him with the team through the 2010 NFL season. After that, the 32-year old running back plans to retire.

“I just want to finish my career and move on,” Williams told the Miami Herald.

Williams said Maimi has been very nice to him ever since he became Dolphin in 2002.

“When you have a person and an organization that follows a certain philosophy, it’s just nice,” Williams said. “Some organizations like players and want to take care of players. Some organizations aren’t that way.”

Williams has had a decent NFL career, but if he would have stayed away from the hippy lettuce he could have been one of the best ever. Unfortunately, he’s not even the best back on his own team anymore.

Tennis starts Venus and Serena Williams are about to expand their brand into Pro Football. Currently, the sisters are in negotiations to become part owners of the Miami Dolphins.

“There have been preliminary talks, and hopefully it’ll work out,” Serena Williams said. “That would be a great opportunity for both of us. You never know. We’ll see what happens.”

The purchase will put the Williams Sisters in a small group of celebrities who have recently bought a stake in the NFL franchise. Recently, singers Gloria and Emilio Estefan and Marc Anthony have purchased shares of the team. New owner Stephen Ross has even agreed to a partnership deal with Jimmy Buffett.

The Dolphins seem more interested in selling shares to celebrities than actually trying to improve their team. Goodluck Miami!

Six-time Pro Bowl defensive end Jason Taylor has agreed to a 1-year, $1.1 million with his former team, the Miami Dolphins.

“My heart has always been in Miami and so I’m truly excited to call myself a Dolphin once again,” Taylor said in a statement. “I was presented with a number of different opportunities, but in the end the combination of this being the best situation for my family, my love for this community and my tremendous loyalty to a great organization made this an easy decision.”

Taylor also considered signing with the New England Patriots but he turned down more money to return to Miami.

Dumb move Jason. The Patriots would have made you a better football player, Miami will just make you look old and ready to retire.

Current free agent Jason Taylor has recently said that he would hate to play for the New York Jets but he would absolutely love it if he returned to Miami to play for the Dolphins.

“It’d be very, very, very difficult. Very difficult,” Taylor said about the Jets. “But at the end of the day, if you can’t find a job anywhere else and the Jets call, I guess you’ve got to retire or go play.”

Taylor admitted that he’s still a huge fan of his former and in his perfect world Miami will give him another shot..

“I’ll always be a Dolphin,” Taylor said. “There was no bigger fan last year than me. I’m leaving the field from Redskins games and running to see what the Dolphins are doing and checking my phone throughout the day. Those guys on that team will tell you: I was in contact the whole time.”

Just retire already Jason. It’s obvious that you have no real desire to still play the game and your talent has greatly diminished. It’s time to say goodbye.

The Baltimore Ravens easily beat the Miami Dolphins 27-9 to advance in the NFL playoffs.

Ed Reed and the punishing Ravens defense forced Chad Pennington to do his best Brett Favre impersonation by throwing 4 interceptions.

“We heard all week that they don’t turn the ball over,” linebacker Ray Lewis said. “But we force turnovers.”

Ed Reed proved why he should have been named the leagues MVP over Peyton Manning by picking of Pennington twice, and returning one for a 64-yard touchdown.

“No one is surprised at the way Ed Reed plays,” Ravens coach John Harbaugh said. “He may be the best player in the game.”

The Ravens will take on the Titans next which will likely be a low scoring game against two of the best defenses in the league.

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Greg Camarillo will miss the rest of the season after suffering a season ending knee injury during Miami’s 48-28 loss to the New England Patriots.

“You don’t want to lose a player like that,” Dolphins coach Tony Sparano said. “He’s been really productive for us. To me, the guy’s been exactly what you’re looking for on your football team. I’m disappointed for him. I know how important it is for him.”

The injury puts an end to Camarillo’s breakout season. He leads all Miami receivers with 55 receptions for 613 yards and two touchdowns.

“He’s in good spirits considering the circumstances,” Camarillo’s agent J.R. Rickert said. “Greg is the kind of guy who really likes going out there every week and laying it on the line with his teammates.”

Losing Camarillo severely hurts any chance the Dolphins had at making the playoffs as a wildcard team this season. He was Chad Pennington’s security blanket and Miami’s most reliable receiver.

New England Patriots offensive lineman and Miami Dolphins linebacker Channing Crowder exchanged fists during their Sunday matchup.

Light, noticing his opponent is much faster than him, grabbed Crowder’s hair so he couldn’t get away and then he attempted to crush his skull.

Both players were ejected from the game and will likely face a suspension.

Last year Mercury Morris didn’t hide his hatred for the New England Patriots but he’s actually a fan of this years last undefeated team, the Tennessee Titans. Morris says they remind him of his unbeaten 1972 Dolphins team.

“If the Titans show up [in the Super Bowl with a perfect record], they would be exactly like we were. Nobody believed after the 10th game, the 12th game, the 16th game,” Morris said.

Before Morris could shut up he just had to remind everyone how much he hates the Patriots …again.

“The Patriots, you people were crowning them after the second game and the season was a formality. I kept trying to tell you,” Morris said.

The 1972 Dolphins still remain the most annoying team in the history of sports.
