Fedor Emelianenko Knocked Out By Dan Henderson (Video)

Not too long ago Fedor Emelianenko was internationally known as the greatest mixed martial artist to ever live. Fight fans all over the world thought he was nearly invincible; it seemed as if nobody could ever defeat him in the cage.

Public opinion has changed an awful lot following his third straight loss.

This past Saturday night, Fedor was knocked out by fellow MMA legend Dan Henderson on Showtime. While most fans will agree the ref called the fight off a little too early, Fedor lost fair and square. He obviously isn’t as good as he once was and it would be smart for him to retire instead of further tarnishing his legacy.

Lyoto Machida Kicks Toothless Randy Couture Into Retirement

Throughout the years Randy Couture has arguably done more for the sport of MMA than any fighter in the world. One could even go as far to say he’s done more for the sport than Dana White himself. Unfortunately, he’s old and way past his prime. Everybody knew if he continued to fight, eventually he would suffer a brutal defeat. Sadly, that happened on Saturday to the hands of Lyoto Machida.

Not only is this one of the best kicks you’ll ever see in your life, it also chipped Couture’s tooth. Nobody wanted to see him leave the sport like this, but everyone knew it was inevitable.

Mike Tyson Gives His Thoughts On MMA And Brock Lesnar

Listening to Mike Tyson never gets old. It’s amazing that a guy that has been through the type of crap he’s been through is still alive or not currently living a life sentence. Surely it’s only a matter of time before he gets in trouble again and lands himself in another courtroom, but at least he seems to be making the best out of his life for now.

On a side note, I can’t wait to see The Hangover II. The first one was an instant classic!!

Brock Lesnar Beats Shane Carwin at UFC 116

If you missed UFC 116, you may want to buy the replay of the even on PPV. the Brock Lesnar-Shane Carwin fight will go down as one of the best the sport has ever seen.

Carwin punished Lesnar during the first round, and at one point the ref almost called the fight but decided to give Lesnar the benefit of the doubt. It’s a good thing he did, because what happened in the 2nd round will go down in history forever. Lesnar was able to take down the unbeaten and obviously worn out Carwin and made him tap out by an arm-triangle choke.

“I just had to weather the storm,” Lesnar said. “He’s got some heavy shots. I just had to hang back. I knew he was getting tired. Each shot was less dramatic than the other, and I thought, ‘I’ll just let him go.’”

There should undoubtedly be a rematch to this instant classic fight, but next time Carwin promises not to punch himself out.

“I was going after the kill there,” Carwin said. “Brock’s a tough son of a bitch, man. He took that ground-and-pound like nobody else. I tightened up. My hat’s off to him. He’s the champion. I fell down the mountain, but I’ll climb back up.”

This fight should only help MMA become a mainstream sport. ESPN covered the fight all Saturday night and for most the day Sunday.

Fedor Emelianenko Is A Punk!

The supposedly best MMA fighter in the world, Fedor Emelianenko, was upset by some nobody Fabricio Werdum on Saturday night when the Last Emporer tapped out early in the fight from an Arm Bar.

“The one who doesn’t fall doesn’t stand up,” Emelianenko said. “I was concentrating on the strikes. That’s why I made the mistake. We’ll try and figure out and analyze why it happened. We have one more fight, for which I will come to America.”

So does this huge upset mean Fedor was overrated, or does it mean Fabricio Werdum is just that good? Honestly, it doesn’t mean anything. Every MMA fighter gets beat a few times, that’s just the nature of the sport. You can’t win every fight. Fedor is not invincible, but I guarantee if these two fight again he’ll beat the shit out of Fabricio.

Frank Shamrock Thinks Jake Shields Sucks

In this interview Frank Shamrock bashes Jake Shields and comments on Chuck Liddell. He definitely convinces me that Jake Shields is a pansy ass who sucks at fighting, but he wouldn’t give a definitive answer either way on The Iceman.

Shamrock, just tell it like it is. Liddell needs to retire IMMEDIATELY!!!

Time For Chuck Liddell To Retire From MMA

It is finally time for the MMA legend Chuck Liddell to definitely call it a career and retire after getting knocked out cold by Rich Franklin on Saturday night at UFC 115.

“The game plan was to not stand in front of him, which I started to do a little bit,” Franklin said. “Keep the lead hand active. Once he kicked me in that arm and I could feel the arm clicking — I looked down at my forearm one time to kind of check it — it took me out of my game a little bit. It really did. He caught me there at the end, had me back against the fence, but I just kept my cover tight and tried swinging. Things landed.

The thing about Chuck, when he gets you on the run, he really, really overcommits on things.”

I don’t follow MMA too closely and I have no idea who Rich Franklin is, but I do know that Chuck Liddell is a legend of the sport and if it wasn’t for the Iceman I would have never ordered an MMA PPV event. His career may be over now, but let’s never forget just how good he once was.

And for the record, he could still beat the living shit out of Tito Ortiz.
