Kimbo Slice fought Roy Nelson on Wednesday night’s episode of The Ultimate Fighter on Spike TV, results after the jump:

Roy Nelson defeated Kimbo Slice pretty handily in a second round TKO. The result wasn’t that surprising as Kimbo has been underwhelming for quite some time. Most of round one was spent on the ground with Slice doing very little. Nelson took Slice down in round two again, the referee stated that he needed to see something, but Slice was unresponsive and the fight was stopped. Really kind of a disappointing effort all around as it didn’t seem like Kimbo was really getting hit all that hard.

Do you think Kimbo Slice has much of a future at this point? Roy Nelson isn’t that impressive of a fighter, so I’m going to have to say his time is limited, as he can’t seem to beat anyone.

Due to a rift with UFC president Dana White , former light heavyweight champion of the world Quinton “Rampage” Jackson has announced his retirement from MMA.

“I’m done fighting,” Jackson wrote on his official website.“I still feel the UFC is a great organization and I felt like I was very loyal to them but they didn’t respect my loyalty but I wish the UFC the best, I did a lot of things for them. I wish no bad blood between us but I have kids and a family back in Memphis to provide for and thats all that matters to me!”

Rampage is quitting MMA to pursue a full-time acting career and Dana White is not happy with the decision.

“I’m so mad at Rampage over this,” White ranted. “Rampage is a guy we’ve obviously taken under our wing the last few years, really like him, and have done a lot of good things for him, and for him to do this to me, and pull out (of UFC 107) and do this goofy A-Team movie, I’m not happy about it at all.”

Dana White needs to learn how to shut his mouth and be a professional President for once. Everytime White is in the media it’s always because he’s bitching about something. During his career, Rampage Jackson has made a ton of money for the UFC. Why is it so hard for White to just congratulate the guy on a great career and wish him the best in the future?

Former Heisman Trophy winner Herschel Walker has signed a deal to become the newest fighter for Strikeforce. The 47-year-old former running back will train for the next 8-to-12 weeks and plans to make his MMA debut in 2010.

“I will go in there and test myself against any 20 year old,” Walker said. “I know there will be naysayers and I’m fine with that. I want to prove to people who sit on a couch and don’t do anything but criticize other people that, if you’re a true athlete or martial artist, you’re not old until you can’t get up and walk around anymore. MMA fighters are said to be some of the best athletes in the world, my plan at the age of 47 is to show the world I am still one of the best athletes as well.”

This makes no sense for Walker. He doesn’t need the money and regardless of what he says, he’s way too old to start learning a new sport. We just hope he doesn’t get seriously injured.

Even though Gina Carano suffered an embarrassing loss a week ago to Cyborg Santos that certaintly won’t stop us from covering the worlds hottest MMA star. In a recent interview with ESPN Magazine, Carano reveals some information about her period, and why it’s important for her to wear 3 bras every time she fights.

“I try not to schedule fights the week I’ll be on my period. Making weight is hard enough, and during our period we may retain around seven pounds of water weight,” Carano told ESPN. “Plus bruises hurt more, you’re bloated and cramping, and emotionally, it’s tougher to battle through the training. Also, some states require us to wear breast padding, since we are allowed to punch there. One time I didn’t have any; a guy told me to put a rolled-up towel in my bra. I said no. I usually just wear three sports bras during a fight.”

At Popcrunch we are not big fans of breast padding. In fact, we believe all women should be forced to fight naked in a pool of mud (unless they’re ugly of course).

Here’s the full fight video of the highly anticipated fight which took place on Saturday against Cris “Cyborg” Santos and Gina Carano. Cyborg won by knock-out with just 1 second left on the clock. We watched it live, and it was a great fight while it lasted. We’d love to see a rematch.

Boxer Roy Jones Jr. says he wants to fight UFC star Anderson Silva when Silva’s contract with UFC is over.

In the boxing ring it would be a very interesting fight, but in the octagon Jones would get killed. I would sure hope Jones could take Silva in the boxing ring, but lately his chin has been suspect at best.

Anderson Silva proved he’s still one of the best UFC fighters in the world after knocking out former light heavyweight champion Forrest Griffin in just 3 minutes and 23 seconds at UFC 101 “Declaration” on Saturday.

Aftter the fight Silva was asked if he’d continue to fight at middleweight or move up to light heavyweight.

“I want to fight against the best,” Silva said. “Whoever the best is at the time, that’s who I want to fight.”

Up next for Silva will likely be a another match with Dan Henderson or a fight with his close friend Lyoto Machida.

“These two are friends,” UFC President Dana White said. “It has nothing to do with friendship. It’s about who’s the best. It’s about competing against somebody else, no different than a basketball game or a football game. If Anderson gets to that point where he starts taking out 205-pounders, I’ll make that fight. I promise you, I’ll make that fight.”

Both opponents would make for a great fight, but we’d still favor Silva against either one.
