Sylvester Croom has resigned as head coach of the Mississippi State Bulldogs after finishing the season with only 4 wins and 8 losses.
“Five years ago, Mississippi State gave me the unprecedented opportunity to be a head football coach in the Southeastern Conference and to build a program based upon a strong foundation,” Croom said.

Former Oakland Raiders head coach Lane Kiffin will be the new head coach for the Tennessee Volunteers.
“We had unbelievable interest from great coaches,” athletic director Mike Hamilton said.
Former Auburn Tigers head coach Terry Bowden desperatly wants to get back into coaching and he really doesn’t care where. Heck, he’ll even take the San Diego State job.

I’m convinced that this guy is a god.
President elect Barack Obama gave his thoughts on a college football playoff system when he was a guest on 60 minutes. At the end of the clip Obama says he plans to “throw his weight around a little bit”.
As a sports fan I hope we see a college football playoff system in the future but as an American, I hope Barack Obama has his priorities straight.
The Texas Longhorns have named defensive coordinator Will Muschamp as their new head coach once Mack Brown retires.

The Kansas State Wildcats have decided they do not want Ron Prince to return as their head football coach in 2009.
“Our goal remains the same and we felt that change was necessary,” Kansas State athletic Bob Krause said.
