Euro is a funny old thing. Sure players give their best for their country (or so they say) but it is also a period when clubs all over Europe check out the existing and emerging talent. Some players have already been spotted and the rumor mill is working overtime who will buy who and at what cost.
Chelsea might be considered the holy grail of clubs for any football manager or football player. Rare are the few that would say no to Roman Abramovich (or his money for that matter).

Soccer legend Pele was a victim of robbery earlier this month at the town of Santos.
Pele was held at gunpoint by 10 Brazilian youths, who took his mobile, watch and gold necklace.
The Brazilian papers have reported that even though Pele told the youths who he was they robbed him anyway. Afterwards some of his possessions were returned.
Pele did not report the mugging to the police.
And he was declared Brazil’s National treasure. Honestly.
Kind of a gay commercial if you ask me.
I’m still not sure entirely how I feel about soccer (my viewing generally is limited mostly to the World Cup every four years), but I do know one thing I love about the sport: all the women. Every time there’s a huge tournament somewhere it seems like we’re inundated with pictures of hot flag waving women. Most American sports can’t really compete in this area (save, maybe, for college football), which is a real shame. Here are some of the hottest women from this year’s major soccer event, Euro 2008.
