Not long after his release from the Boston Red Sox, 42-year-old pitcher John Smoltz found a new team in St. Louis after signing a deal with the Cardinals on Wednesday.

Rick Ankiel crashes into wall headfirst

Here’s the video of St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Rick Ankiel slams into the outfield wall headfirst and needed to be carried off on a stretcher.

Thankfully he has been released from the hospital after x-rays came back negative and he regained full movement in both his legs and arms.
