The St. Louis Rams will be without starting quarterback Marc Bulger for atleast 2 weeks after the 32-year old veteran suffered a broken pinkie finger during practice on Monday morning. Former Baltimore Ravens first round draft pick Kyle Boller will take over as the Rams starter until Bulger is ready to go.

“It’ll be an opportunity for me to get out there with the ones,” Boller said. “That’s what they brought me in here for, in case something like this happens.”

Bulger, along with the rest of the Rams, had a horrible season last year. That was partly due to injuries, which seems to be happening all over again. They have already lost starting receiver Donnie Avery for part of the regular season after he suffered a broken bone in his left foot. At this point in their careers, we’re not even sure Bulger is that much better than Boller, but this is already a horrible start to the 2009 NFL season for the Rams.

In an effort to get younger on offense, the St. Louis Rams announced the release veteran wide receiver Torry Holt on Friday.

“The Rams will forever be grateful for the way Torry Holt represented the Rams on the field and in the community,” Rams owner Chip Rosenbloom said. “He is an All Pro in every sense of the word. Over the past 10 seasons, Torry has proven himself to be one of the finest wide receivers in league history. This is a difficult decision because Torry has meant so much to the organization. In my mind and for all Rams fans, Torry will always be a Ram and we wish him and his family nothing but the best as they move forward.”

It seems like Holt has been around forever but he is only 32-years old and still has a few highly productive years left in him. Whoever is lucky enough to sign Holt will be getting one of the most reliable receivers in the NFL.

The St. Louis Rams have released seven-time Pro Bowler and future hall of famer, offensive tackle Orlando Pace on Tuesday.

“I can’t begin to thank Orlando for all he has meant to the Rams organization,” Owner Chip Rosenbloom said. “It is never easy to end a relationship that has had as much success as ours, but in the interest of Orlando and the Rams, we feel now is the right time.”

Orlando Pace is one of the best offensive linemans in NFL history but the 33-year old has struggled with injuries in recent years.

He may be older but make no mistake about it, when healthy Pace is still one of the best at his position. I’m sure there will be plenty of teams interested in his services.

The St. Louis Rams have hired New York Giants defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo as their new head coach.

“We considered some very qualified and outstanding candidates for this position, but we kept coming back to Steve Spagnuolo,” general manager Billy Devaney said in a statement.

Although Rams players were hoping interim HC Jim Haslett would get the gig, they’re happy with Spagnoulo.

“Having a guy who’s got swagger makes a difference,” Rams linebacker Will Witherspoon said. “A guy who can really get guys motivated is going to be a big key.”

The Rams have a lot of talent on offense but they’re starting to get old. If Spagnuolo can bring in some young blood and motivate the old veterans the Rams could easily make the playoffs next season.

Spagnuolo is the perfect man for the job in St. Louis.

Some St. Louis Rams players are lobbying for Jim Haslett to lose his interim tag and become they’re permanent head coach for next season and beyond.

“He knows what we need on this team,” a anonymousl veteran player, told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. “He knows the strengths and the weaknesses. He knows his players in and out. He’s the right guy for the job.”

Haslett was only 2-9 after taking over for Scott Linehan earlier in the season and his career record as a head coach is an unimpressive 47-61.

Haslett is a fiery head coach and as a former NFL player himself, he relates well with his players. But his record as a head coach speaks for itself and he’ll only land this gig if the Rams are unable to bring in a already proven and previously successful head coach.

The St. Louis Rams won their 2nd game in a row under interim head coach Jim Haslett dominating the Dallas Cowboys 34-14 Sunday afternoon.

“I’m glad it’s working out but I’ve got nothing to do with it,” Haslett insisted.

“You’ve got to give credit to these guys. Their the ones that had to put it in their mind they were going to turn the thing around, and they did a nice job. That’s all I can ask for as a coach. I’ll kind of guide them and send them the way I want to. You can write all you want to — it’s this or that about the head coach. It’s nothing to do with the head coach. It has to do with those players in that room.”

Starting for the injured Tony Romo, 40-year old quarterback Brad Johnson played like a rookie throwing 3 interceptions.

“It was a tough day for all of us,” Johnson said. “We had miscues across the board.”

Have Haslett’s Rams become a force to reckon with with in the NFL? Last week they shocked the Redskins and this week they make the Cowboys look like the Detroit Lions.

Expect Haslett to get the permanent head coaching gig in St. Louis.

As expected, the winless St. Louis Rams have fired Scott Linehan and have named defensive coordinator Jim Haslett their interim head coach for the rest of the season.

“I have enormous respect for Scott Linehan as a person and believe under the right circumstances he will be regarded one day as a fine head coach,” owner Chip Rosenbloom said.

“Unfortunately, the situation with the Rams as they exist today is no longer acceptable and we have to make a change.”

Under Linehan’s leadership the Rams have had a horrible 11-25 record. Former Saints head coach Jim Haslett will take over for Linehan and he has already made his presence felt by reinstating Marc Bulger as the Rams starting quarterback.

Haslett is a fiery head coach who demands the respect of his players, don’t be surprised if the Rams turn their season around under his direction.

The 0-3 St. Louis Rams have decided to bench quarterback Marc Bulger for 38-year old veteran Trent Green. After the Rams loss to the Seattle Seahawks it was obvious a change was needed.

“I forsee evaluating everything,” Linehan said. “What they are right now does depend on the health of our team in spots, but I would think that anything’s possible at this point as far as our lineup.”

The Rams have only won 3 of their past 19 games and it seems like they keep getting worse every week but is concussion prone Trent Green really an upgrade over Bulger?

Green shouldn’t even be allowed to play football after suffering numourous severe concussions throughout his career and to make matters worse he’ll be playing behind that horrible Rams offensive line.

Hopefully he doesn’t end up taking another hit to the head or things could get very ugly.
