Lisa Leslie has confirmed her retirement from basketball after losing to Diana Taurasi and the Phoenix Mercury in the WNBA semifinals.

“Today is my last day of playing professional basketball, but I will stay close to the game because I feel I need to be a part of it,” Leslie told reporters after the loss. Read the rest of this entry »

This may come to a surprise to many, but people actually do still watch the WNBA. For example, check out this recent picture of some drunk fan at a game between the Los Angeles Sparks and the Minnesota Lynx.

Okay, we’ll admit. She’s probably not drunk, but how else do you explain somebody getting so excited over a WNBA game?
