Lisa Leslie has confirmed her retirement from basketball after losing to Diana Taurasi and the Phoenix Mercury in the WNBA semifinals.

“Today is my last day of playing professional basketball, but I will stay close to the game because I feel I need to be a part of it,” Leslie told reporters after the loss.“I feel great, You know why? Because I have no regrets. Every time I stepped out on that court I played as hard as I could, I’ve left everything out there.

Leslie is one of the original WNBA players and without her there probably wouldn’t be a women’s basketball league. Even if you have never watched a WNBA game in your life, chances are you know who Lisa Leslie is.
