I agree with the following poster. I am a current Auburn student and have seen many times the racist acts that go on around this campus. Just a few years back a frat had a kkk party with a "lynching" as the main entertainment source. The frat is no longer allowed at auburn, but that could have been simply to save face. The student population here is quite commonly racist. Being an Alabama resident all my life, and forcing myself to interact with a variety of peoples, I discovered that racism is alive and well in this state. It's quite sad actually...

I'm an Auburn alumnus, class of'78. Racism was quite evident during the '70s at AU. One need only look at the role given to the first black AU cheerleader (a male who was not allowed to have a female cheerleading partner-- No black hands on white chicks' butts at AU!). I'd be willing to bet that more AU grads voted for McCain than Obama, since the state of Alabama was overwhelmingly pro-McCain. Since you argue that millions of whites voting for Obama means millions of whites are not racist, it sounds like you're suggesting that those who voted for McCain are perhaps indeed racist.

You also admit that you do not know why AU hired Chizik, yet you KNOW that racism was not a factor. Hmmm . . . Contradiction after contradiction, my friend. AU has always been behind the times, so it makes sense that racism still lingers in the ugliest village on the plains.
