Chicago Bears Sign Kevin Jones
The Chicago Bears have signed running back Kevin Jones to a 1-year deal worth $605,000.
“I’m ecstatic,” Jones told the Chicago Tribune. “I know the situation. I know the Bears’ rich history of winning. Looking at the Bears, I know they’re a tough, running team. I can’t wait to be a part of it.”
Jones will battle 2nd round draft pick Matt Forte out of Tulane for the starting job but they will likely end up splitting carries. When healthy Kevin Jones is one of the top backs in the NFL but he has been hampered by injuries and he must prove that he can stay injury-free.
But even if Kevin Jones is on crutches he’s still 100 times better than former starter Cedric Benson.
