China tackles the algae problem

If smog and security was not enough, Chinese government was forced to tackle another problem – an outbreak of algae in the coastal resort of Qingdao.
It would not be much of a problem were it not for the fact that Qingdao is a venue for a Olympic sailing event. More then 1 million tonne of algae was cleared and now all is ready for the big event.
According to the local residents, even though algae were always present they have never seen a outbreak of this magnitude.
So the local authorities have urged the locals to be extra diligent to make sure further outbreaks will be prevented in time.
