The Dallas Cowboys have agreed to a trade with the Detroit Lions for wide receiver Roy Williams.

“I’m more happy to be a Dallas Cowboy than when I got my first bike,” said Williams.

In return for Williams the Dallas Cowboys will give the Lions their first, third and sixth round picks in 2009 plus a seventh round draft pick in 2010.

“We felt like right now that was the best thing for us to do as a football team. It gives us something for the future. You’re looking at the possibility of having five of the first hundred [2009] picks,” Lions general manager Martin Mayhew said. “It was a pragmatic business decision.”

Roy williams is a great receiver but the Cowboys got robbed in this deal. Dallas already has problems distributing the ball to all of their offensive weapons. Terrell Owens has already bitched about not seeing the ball enough and now he’ll have to share touches with not only Marion Barber and Jason Witten, but his heir apperent Roy Williams as well.

If Jerry Jones wanted to trade away all their picks in 2009 he should have went after a defensive back, not another player for his already talented offense.
