After 14 years and 2 Super Bowl Championships, the Denver Broncos have fired Mike Shanahan as their head coach.

“After giving this careful consideration, I have concluded that a change in our football operations is in the best interests of the Denver Broncos,” owner Pat Bowlen said.

They is a horrible move by the Broncos. Unless they can get Belichick out of New England or sway Bill Parcells back into coaching there’s absolutely no way they’ll find a better coach than Shanahan.

Every team currently without a head coach is already begging Shanahan to come in for an interview. Shanahan was not the problem in Denver, and without him the Broncos are a 5-11 football team next year.

I HATE TO SEE MIKE BE FIRED. I HAVE WATCHED THE BRONCOS FOR THE LAST FIVE YEARS AND HAVE BEEN TO TWO OF THEIR GAMES. I THINK HE HAS DONE A GREAT JOB FOR THIS TEAM AND HE HAS A QUARTERBACK THAT HE CAN MAKE VERY GREAT. I HOPE THAT THE NEW COACH DOESN’T SLAUGHTER THIS TEAM, THEY HAVE GREAT GUYS THAT SHANAHAN KNEW HOW TO WORK WITH. THIS IS A REAL SHAME.
