Dolphins Embarrass Patriots
The Miami Dolphins shocked many football fans Sunday afternoon when they destroyed the New England Patriots 38-13.
“We had trouble with their new stuff,” Patriots coach Bill Belichick said. “We had trouble with their old stuff. We didn’t play very well on defense. We didn’t coach very well.”
More surprising than the victory itself is how the Dolphins and Ronnie Brown used the “wildcat” formation to perfection.
“We tried to keep them off guard and show them a different formation and get them thinking a little bit,” Ronnie Brown said after scoring five touchdowns in the matchup. “After the first time we ran it, I could see them running around and they weren’t used to it. We just tried to keep them off guard and it worked.”
The embarrassing defeated has left many wondering if Bill Belichick will be able to win without Tom Brady.
“You really don’t realize how good Tom Brady is until he’s not out there,” said Dolphins linebacker Joey Porter. “Not taking anything away from Matt Cassel, but those are tough shoes to fill.”
It wil lbe interested to see if the Patriots try to sign a veteran QB during their week 4 bye.
