Eric Mangini Doesn’t Care About His Players

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Syndric Steptoe has already been ruled out for the entire 2009 NFL season after suffering a torn labrum in his shoulder. His agent is blaming the injury entirely on new head coach Eric Mangini.
“The coaches should more carefully weigh the risk of injury in practice decisions,” Steptoe’s agent Jerome Stanley said. “My understanding is that the team was on the field for a walk-through the day before the scrimmage. The walk-through turned into a full practice in a driving rain.”
According to Stanley, Mangini told the players they where just going to do a light walkthrough, but then changed his mind and made them participate in a full-speed practice during a heavy rain storm.
“Obviously, hindsight gives one a different perspective,” Stanley said. “But if the practice had stayed a walk-through, Syndric wouldn’t be preparing for season-ending surgery right now. The decision produced a bad result for the kid and the team.”
Mangini proved with the Jets that he’s a horrible coach. We were shocked when the Browns hired him and we’re still trying to figure out why they did. His players hate him and other than spending a few years in New England as Bill Belichick’s little bitch, he’s never done anything to make us believe he’s a good coach.
