New York Giants running back Brandon Jacobs doesn’t carry a gun with him at all times but if you try to break into his house, he will kill you with one.

“All I will say is in the streets for me, there is no need for it,” Jacobs said of carrying a gun. “But if you come in between that door frame of my home, I am going to kill you. Hands down.”

When asked if he owned a gun Jacobs interrupted and said, “Listen to the words that are coming out of my mouth. If you come between the door. … If I am out in the streets, I don’t have anything to do with that. But at my house, where I have my wife and son there …”

Robbers beware, don’t mess with Jacobs or your dead meat. Literally.

Multiple sources are reporting the Washington Huskies have hired USC offensive coordinator, Steve Sarkisian, as their new head coach.

Sarkisian denies the reports but nobody really believes him.

“I have interviewed with Washington,” Sarkisian said.

“They’ve interviewed a lot of people. I’m one of a number of candidates, which I’m honored to be. Nothing is finalized in any way, shape or form. There’s been some communication. Nothing has been put in writing.”

Sarkisian would be replacing Tyrone Willingham who hasn’t won a game yet this season.

He’d be a good hire for Washington but I’m not sure why Sarkisian would want this job.

After 10 seasons as the Auburn Tigers head football coach, Tommy Tuberville has resigned.

“The last 10 years have been a great time in my life, both professionally and personally,” Tuberville said in a statement.

“It’s been a great place to coach and live, and we’ve had a lot of success along the way. I’m going to remain in Auburn and help the Auburn family however I can. I’m very appreciative of the coaches, players, staff and Auburn fans over the last decade.”

Tuberville had a great 85-40 overall record and in those 10 seasons with the team he had a undefeated season in 2003 and contended for many SEC championships.

Tuberville is a great coach and Auburn should have recognized that. He’s done an awful lot for the school and even though he had a bad 5-7 record this season, hey shouldn’t have let him go.

Charlie Weis will continue to be the head coach of Notre Dame football for atleast 1 more season.

“The question you’re ultimately asking yourself is: Is he in a position to help direct the changes in the program, to help steer it back to where he and I really want it to be?” Athletic director Swarbrick.

“That really focused on a discussion about a series of very specific things that constitute the plan going forward.”

Weis still has 7 years left on his contract after he signed a huge 10-year contract in his first season as head coach for the Fighting Irish. But in 4-years as their head coach his record is a mediocre 28-21 — that’s worse than his predecessors Tyrone Willingham and Bob Davie.

There’s no doubt about it, Notre Dame wanted to fire him, but they knew they wouldn’t find anyone better.

The Toronto Raptors fired coach Sam Mitchell and replaced him with assistant coach Jay Triano after his slow 8-9 record to start the season.

Despite being fired, Mitchell didn’t have any hard feelings.

“I have a lot to be thankful for, they really gave me the opportunity to have a career in coaching, something I always wanted to do after I played,” Mitchell said. “So yeah, it’s a disappointment that I really wasn’t given the chance to finish what I started, but you know what, I feel like I accomplished a lot of good things. I think the players that played for me all got better.”

Mitchell was named the NBA coach of the year during the 2006-07 season and he’s led the Raptors to the playoffs in the previous 2 seasons. Toronto made a huge mistake by firing this guy. He got the most out of the talent on that team.
