Former Brewers 1st rounder suspended for drug abuse

Milwaukee Brewers prospect Jeremy Jeffress has been suspended for 100 games after his 3rd violation of basebal’ls minor league drug program.
“We are obviously disappointed because Jeremy has such great major league potential, and this is a setback in his career,” Brewers general manager Doug Melvin released in a statement. “We will continue to assist Jeremy and help him with his problem as long as he wants to help himself.”
The Brewers selected Jeffress with their 16th overall pick in the 2006 amateur draft. He has been nothing but a disappointment so far in his career.
