Late last week Arturo Gatti’s widow Amanda Rodrigues was released from jail after the police determined Gatto took his own life. Now, after a second autopsy, Brazilian authorities arn’t so sure.

“There were definite injuries that had not been seen by the Brazilian authorities, but one needs a lot of additional information, including a toxicology which isn’t available yet, to come to a conclusion as to whether it’s homicide or suicide,” former chief pathologist for the New York State Police Michael Baden said.

Rodrigues’ attorney remains confident that his client will ruled innocent in a matter of days.

“I am absolutely sure that the second autopsy will reconfirm that he committed suicide,” Rodrigues’s attorney, Celio Avelino, said.
