There is a special kind of test some athletes will have to go through before the Olympics.
And it is nothing boring as the regular dope test. Oh no.

Test undertaken in a special lab in Beijing will determine whether an athlete is female or male.

Not all athletes will have to take the test, but rather if and when there are serious concerns about individual athlete.

Professor Tian Qinjie stated: “Suspected athletes will be evaluated from their external appearances by experts and undergo blood tests to examine their sex hormones, genes and chromosomes for sex determination… “The aim is to protect fairness at the games while also protecting the rights of people with abnormal sexual development”.

The gender tests have been abolished by the time of Sydney 2000 Olympics however now they are making a reappearance.
