The New York Giants clinched home-field advantage through-out the playoffs with their 34-28 overtime victory over the Carolina Panthers on Sunday Night Football.

“It’s great for our fans to be able to play here at Giants Stadium,” quarterback Eli Manning said. “You never know what the weather is going to be like here. We’re used to playing in those cold and windy games and I would like to think we would have the advantage in some of those. I think it will be fun playing the games at home.”

The Panthers were up 21-13 at the half but the Giants punishing running attack slowly wore down their defense and in overtime they had nothing left.

“The last two weeks we’ve been disgraceful running the ball,” Giants RB Derrick Ward said. “We’ve had our doubters, that we hit our peak in the past. We knew that we could run the ball. That’s what the New York Giants are. We run the ball.”

I’d love to see these two teams face off again in the playoffs. It was an entertaining game and both the Giants and the Panthers are fun teams to watch.
