Giants Suspend Burress for 1 Game

The New York Giants have suspended Plaxico Burress for 1 game after the star receiver missed a workout and didn’t return any phone calls.
“We have had success here because of the team concept,” Giants coach Tom Coughlin said. “And the team concept means basically that everyone is accountable and responsible and that we don’t let the other guys down. And that is what we are trying to do.”
The suspension will end up costing Burress two weekly paychecks, totaling $235,294.12 of his $2 million annual base salary.
I’m not a millionaire but if I was I’m pretty sure I still wouldn’t want to lose that much money. If Burress would have picked up the phone and told the Giants he had a “family emergency” the suspension would have been avoided.
