The San Antonio Spurs will be without Manu Ginobili for the rest of the season and playoffs after tests showed his right ankle is just getting worse, not better.

Ginobili has already missed 19 games to heal a stress reaction in his right distal fibula; he eventually returned to action but now x-rays show a fracture.

As of Monday night Ginobili wasn’t expected to need surgery but doctors are forcing him to sit out the rest of the season to let the injury heal and not risk further damage.
