Hopkins Destroys Pavlik
Bernard “The Executioner” Hopkins (43-years old) silenced critics who said he was to old to fight by easily winning a 12-round decision over the previously undefeated 26-year old Middleweight champion Kelly “The Ghost” Pavlik.
“Ninety percent of the media picked Pavlik,” Hopkins said. “I always appreciate naysayers. That’s what motivates me when people go against me.”
Hopkins won by a unanimous decision, 119-106, 118-108, 117-109 on the scorecards.
“I think this is my best performance — better than Trinidad, better than Tarver, better than Oscar, better than my 20 straight defenses,” an emotional Hopkins said.
Even though Hopkins in 43-years old and might have just put on the best performance of his career, don’t expect him to retire anytime soon.
“Like Martin Luther King said, I’ve been to the mountaintop,” B-Hop said. “I’ve been there about three or four times, and I keep pulling a rabbit out of the hat.”
Hopkins completely confused Pavlik and fought like he was in his twenties again. Brilliant performance by the old man.
