Houshmandzadeh loves and hates the possibility of being franchised
The Cincinnati Bengals will most likely place the franchise tag on wide reciever T.J. Houshmandzadeh this offseason and the he’s not sure if he should love it or hate it.
“I don’t know how I can put this,” Houshmandzadeh said. “Would I be happy with it? Yeah, because it’s a lot of money. But would I be happy with it? No, I wouldn’t. I don’t know if that makes sense.
Still unsure, Housh tried to explain himself.
“It’s going to be my ninth year (in 2009). I didn’t play (much) my first three, so I look at it as being my sixth year. You just want to know what’s going to happen. If you get a franchise, they want to keep you for one year and that’s it. It’d be cool, but it wouldn’t be cool.”
Let me help you out T.J., you should absolutely hate the idea of being franchised by the worst team in the AFC. If you tested free agency you could get more money and you could be guaranteed some long-term security. Plus you’d most likely get to play for a much better team.
