Jaguars release Matt Jones

The Jacksonville Jaguars cut former first-round draft pick, wide receiver Matt Jones on Monday following his latest arrest.
“All roster moves are decisions we feel are in the best interest of the organization,” Jaguars general manager Gene Smith said. “This decision is a result of our ongoing player and roster evaluations. We expect responsibility and accountability, and those are important qualities as we continue the process of building this team.”
Jones is a freakishly talented athlete but he doesn’t know how to stay in trouble. If he seeks help and learns to obey the law he still has an opportunity to be a star in the league.
