The defending World Baseball Classic champions, Japan defeated the United States of America 9-4 i nthe semifinals on Sunday night. Daisuke Matsuzaka and the rest of the Japan team will face South Korea on Monday night for the title.

“We go home disappointed,” Mark DeRosa said. “We expected to win this thing.”

Shortstop Jimmy Rollins is predicting a Japan victory over the South Koreans.

Not many of us Americans are disappointed after the loss; quite frankly we’re shocked we made it this far.

“They just play winning baseball,” Jimmy Rollins said. “They don’t worry about the big things; they just do things right.”
